Privacy Policy

Effective date: May 8, 2026  ·  Last updated: May 29, 2026

Short version: Stagr collects the information you give us to run the app. We don't sell your data, we don't show you ads, and you can delete your account at any time.

This Privacy Policy explains how Stagr ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Stagr mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to the practices described below.

Questions or concerns? Email us at admin@stagrapp.com.

1. Information We Collect

a) Information you provide directly

  • Account information: email address and display name when you create an account.
  • Band profiles: band name, biography, genres, travel radius, pricing range, and optional links to social media (Instagram, YouTube, or other).
  • Bar / venue profiles: venue name, address, city, state, description, and business hours.
  • Events and specials: event dates, cover charge, genre tags, descriptions, and promotional specials you create for your venue.
  • Messages: the content of messages you send through the in-app messaging system (between bands and bars, and between fans and bands for private booking inquiries).
  • Phone number: if you choose to verify your phone number (required to send private booking requests to artists), we collect your mobile phone number and use it solely for identity verification via a one-time SMS code. It is never displayed publicly.
  • Private booking requests: if you submit a booking inquiry to an artist, we collect the event type, date, location, estimated headcount, and any notes you provide.
  • Ratings: star ratings (1–5) you submit for bars or bands.

b) Information collected automatically

  • Location data: with your permission, we collect your device's GPS coordinates to show you nearby venues on the map and to let bands set their location for discovery. You can revoke location permission in your device settings at any time.
  • Push notification tokens: a device-specific token so we can send you notifications (e.g., when a favorited bar posts a new event). We do not use this token for advertising.
  • Subscription status: if you purchase a subscription, we receive and store your subscription status and plan type via RevenueCat. We do not receive or store your payment card details — those are handled entirely by Apple or Google.
  • Venue discovery data: when you browse the map, your location is used to query nearby venues via the Google Places API. Venue identifiers and coordinates returned by that API are cached in our database to improve map performance. If you use the "Add to Stagr" feature to flag an unclaimed venue, we record the venue details and associate your user ID with that submission.
  • Usage data: favorites you save, screens you visit, and feature interactions — used only to improve the app.

c) Information we do NOT collect

  • Payment card numbers or full financial account details (all payment processing is handled by Apple or Google).
  • Social Security numbers or government-issued IDs.
  • Health or medical information.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Operate and deliver the Service (show the map, display profiles, enable messaging).
  • Authenticate your account and keep it secure.
  • Send push notifications you have opted into (new events from favorited venues, new messages).
  • Improve and debug the app based on usage patterns.
  • Respond to support requests sent to admin@stagrapp.com.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

We do not use your data to serve advertisements, build advertising profiles, or sell your information to third parties.

3. How We Share Your Information

With other users of the Service — Band and bar profile information you enter (name, genres, bio, travel radius, social links, location on the map) is visible to other Stagr users. Messages are visible only to the parties in that conversation (band and bar, or fan and band). Private booking request details are visible only to you and the artist you contacted. Your email address and phone number are never displayed publicly.

With service providers — We rely on the following third-party infrastructure providers to operate the Service:

  • Supabase, Inc. — database, authentication, and file storage. Data is stored on servers in the United States. Supabase Privacy Policy.
  • Google LLC — Google Maps SDK, Geocoding API, and Places API (New), used to display the map, convert addresses to geographic coordinates, and discover nearby venues. Google Privacy Policy.
  • RevenueCat, Inc. — subscription management and in-app purchase infrastructure. RevenueCat receives your subscription status and purchase history to validate and manage your subscription. RevenueCat Privacy Policy.
  • Expo (by Expo Inc.) — push notification delivery infrastructure. Expo Privacy Policy.
  • Twilio, Inc. — SMS delivery for phone number verification (one-time codes only). Your phone number is transmitted to Twilio solely to deliver the verification code and is not stored by Twilio beyond that transaction. Twilio Privacy Policy.

These providers are contractually prohibited from using your data for any purpose other than providing services to us.

For legal reasons — We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or government request, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect the safety of any person or prevent fraud.

Business transfers — If Stagr is acquired or merges with another company, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via the email address on your account before your data is subject to a materially different privacy policy.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

4. Data Retention

We retain your account information and content for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time through the app (Profile → Settings → Delete Account) or by emailing admin@stagrapp.com. Upon deletion, we will remove your personal information from our active systems within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law.

Messages in a conversation are deleted when either party involved in that conversation (band, bar, or fan account) is removed from the Service. Private booking requests are deleted when the artist profile or the requesting user's account is removed.

Your verified phone number is stored only as long as your account remains active and is removed when your account is deleted.

5. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate data (you can update most profile information directly in the app).
  • Delete your account and associated data.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing of your data.
  • Opt out of push notifications by disabling them in your device's notification settings.
  • Revoke location permission in your device's app settings at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at admin@stagrapp.com. We will respond within 30 days.

6. Children's Privacy

Stagr is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at admin@stagrapp.com and we will delete it promptly.

7. Data Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (TLS/HTTPS) for all data in transit, row-level security on our database, and secure token storage on your device. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Geographic Scope

Stagr is currently available in the United States only. Your data is stored and processed on servers located in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.

9. Third-Party Links and Services

Band profiles may include links to external platforms (Instagram, YouTube, X, etc.). This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third-party sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any external sites you visit.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, for material changes, notify you via the email address associated with your account or through a notice in the app. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
